Romans 15:4—9
GOSPEL
Matthew 3:1—12
THEME: HE IS COMING FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE.

He is the Prince of peace. He comes to give peace, peace that last. In the Communion Rite of the Eucharistic celebration the Church recognized Jesus as the Prince of peace with his words “Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you; look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign for ever and ever. (Udo ka mụ n' ahapụrụ unu, udo nkem ka mụ n' enye unu, elekwala anya na njọ anyị kama lekwasa anya n' okwukwe nke nzụkọ gị, nye ya udo na ịdịkọ n' otu mgbe nile dịka Uche gị siri chọọ. Gị bụ onye dị ndụ na achị ebebe ebebe”.) In the first reading, we can see the peace that will come on that day. Peace even among animals. Coming to us the people of God, some of us are more deadly than those animals mentioned in the first reading. But this coming of Christ can change many things. Some individuals are even dangerous to themselves talk more to others. Some Families are fighting more than those animals mentioned in the first reading. Coming to communities, it will be worse. In the first reading, despite how dangerous all those animals mentioned are, when the day comes, Continue Reading

They will unite in peace. Why can’t we created in the image and likeness of God come together at this Christ coming? In the second reading St. Paul asks us to pray for peace and harmony among ourselves. “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you, for the glory of God. For I say that Christ became a minister of the circumcised to show God's truthfulness, to confirm the promises of the patriarchs, but so that the Gentiles might glorify God for his m”. Udo nke Chineke dị oke mkpa n' ndụ anyị bụ ndị Chukwu kere eke. It is only when genuine love exists among us that internal and external peace will dwell among us. (Ebe ịhụnanya dị, ebe ahụ ka udo n' adị). HIS JUSTICE IS FAST APPROACHING. In the Gospel, John the Baptist were administering to the people baptism of repentance, because the Axe is already at the foot of the tree. Any soul who fails to repent, at his coming only his Justice will prevail. “(In his days justice shall flourish and peace till the moon fails”). (Psalm 71:7). The axe and the tree and. You and I. If we repent, in his day, he will save us, but if we fail to repent, the axe will cut us down. Sometimes we may decide to repent and go back our Lord and saviour but the hunger for the things of this world and also the kind of people of this world draw us back. That is why we should think before we leap. Let us not because of passing things loose everlasting ones. A STORY: LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. Once, a fox was very thirsty. He saw a big well nearby and peeped into it. The fox slipped and fell into the well. He tried to come out. But he could not do so. After some time, there came a goat who was also thirsty. He too peeped into the well. The fox saw the goat and said from inside the well, the water is very sweet. Come and Come to enjoy. The foolish goat also jumped into the well. The clever fox climbed on the back of the goat and jumped out of the well. Let us watch the way we go about things of this world and also the people we will see there and lastly. Do not follow people’s voices for they may lead to doom. This is not I M things. It is individual race (onye na nke ya) Your own waits for you (nke onye n' eche ye. Ometara buru)But if you are repentant, produce the appropriate fruit, and do not presume to tell yourselves, “We have Abraham for our father,” because, I tell you, God can raise children for Abraham from these stones”. His justice cannot come through worldly I M but through heavenly I M, that is making yourself known to him. As you prepare remember for Christmas remember Psalm 127: 1 Except the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the Watchman wakes but in vain. (Ọ buru na Chineke ewughi ulo, N'efu ka ha dọb͕uworo onwe-ha n'ọlu nime ya, bú ndi nēwu ya: Ọ buru na Chineke echeghi obodo, N'efu ka onye-nche muruworo anya.) SO THAT HIS JUSTICE AND PEACE WILL MEET US READY. THANKS AND HAPPY SUNDAY.
