Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion Year B. By Tobe Eze

1.       Move in this world as the eagle moves in the air when the wind blow against it. Enjoy it for it must rest and it is just matter of time. Tobe Eze.

2.       Even if there is no reason for you to be happy, be happy for it is necessary. Tobe Eze.

FIRST READING
Isaiah 50:4—7
SECOND READING
Philippians 2:6—11
GOSPEL
Longer Form Mark 14:1—15:47
THEME: PEOPLE CAN BE DISTRACTIONS TO YOU IN LIFE.
One of the problems we always have in life is when those who suppose to tell us the truth deceive us in giving us vain glories. When those who supposed to tell our politicians and our rulers both secular and religious the truth about their government turn to praise them in their evils. When we criticize them at the back and praise them in their faces, things will turn to be worse than before. Some praise us in order to get something from us, some praise us in order to land us into troubles, some praise us to make mockery of us, some praise us in our evil deeds, some praise us in order to encourage us, some praise us because we have done well and many other reasons people praise us. Jesus putting into consideration all these things in the Gospel did not dance to the turn of those who were praising him rather he wept for them and went on to go into Jerusalem to save them because he knew them, their problems and what they will turn to be. THEME: COVENANT BUILT ON LOVE.
When I am lifted up, I will draw all me to myself. Are you among those he will draw to himself?
We want to see Jesus. Are you among who want to see Jesus?
We are meant to understand that love is always accompanied by suffering. God's love for his people from the old made him to make different covenants with his people Israel in the old. He the Lord has offered love showed through sacrifice to humanity but human has not sacrificed any, so he decided to make another bold step of involving man in his covenant with man. Igbos believe that onye choro igbu anu ga eme ka anu. He who wants to kill animal should behave like one. For his love for us, he sent his only beloved Son to come and take our nature so that we participate in the sacrifice. Continue Reading.............

FIRST READING
2 Chronicles 36:14—16, 19—23
SECOND READING
Ephesians 2:4—10
GOSPEL
John 3:14—21
THEME: OUR CONDEMNATION COMES FROM US WHILE OUR SALVATION COMES FROM GOD.
As people have changed RIP from Rest in Peace to RETURN IF POSSIBLE, so if wish to borrow it to say, be saved outside God if possible. Our salvation can only come from God through our sincere effort.
Let me start with this short story to show what we do to God with our behaviors. A blind man married one beautiful woman, though he does not know how his wife looks like because he was blind. The woman was doing everything possible to make sure her husband do not feel the pain of being blind so much. They gave birth to three child. As time went on, he developed one ugly behaviour of complaining in everything, everyday, everyone and everywhere. When they give him food without fish, he will say. This one I am eating without fish, I know you people are now eating one person, one full fish. In other to please him, the next meal, they gave him fish and he said. This one I am given fish, it means, you are eating chicken. Still in other to please him, they gave him chicken and he said again. This one I am given chicken, it means, you people have killed a goat for yourselves. They gave him goat and he said again, this one I am given goat today, it means you people are eating cow. At that point, his eyes opened and he saw that his family was staving just to make him happy, instantly he changed and cried for all he has done to his family.

Exodus 20:1—17
SECOND READING
1 Corinthians 1:22—25
GOSPEL
John 2:13—25
THEME: LAWS ARE MEANT TO BE OBEYED BY ALL.
One day, Rosy went to a grocery shop to buy bread. When she saw that the shopkeeper was busy with the other customers, she stole some toffees from a jar.  When she got back home, her mother asked her that where did she get the toffees? Rosy told her mother the truth. Her mother said, "It's really very bad to steal. The shopkeeper might not be looking at you but the God is always looking at you all the time. So, one should never steal." Rosy understood the words of her mother and went back to the shop to return the toffees to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper felt happy on seeing her honesty and gave her some toffees as a reward.
The first reading shows us the ten commandments of God which must be obeyed by all. These laws are divided into two, the first three are directly for God and the other seven are for God through our fellow human being. Vertical and horizontal love of God. Continue Reading...................

THE ARROW OF LOVE. By Tobe Eze

THE ARROW OF LOVE.
(IF YOU MUST LOVE, LOVE WISELY)
It pains most when you see your loved one being taken away from you either by human being or divine being. It is a pain from the heart that affects the body. When you see a person suffering from heart breaking problem caused by taking away of the other lover, you will notice it from the look or the appearance of the person. Love is a two edged sword, when treated well, it does many good but when treated badly, it also does many bad.
The Journey of Love: Before putting yourself into a serious relationship, check where it will be leading you to. Love is not something one should go in and come out anytime one wants, for it may cause many harm if one leaves it at its peak. The journey of love starts gradually and develops a strong bond. At the initial time, one may think that nothing is happening but with time, things will happen. Let us follow the life of these two lovers: It all started in the secondary school, in his last year in the secondary school. A certain girl joined them in their class to write WEAC with them. He was staying in the same line and was the next person to the girl. They started chatting as classmates who were staying together without any intention of having anything to develop between them. Life continued like that till January the last year of their stay there, he packed closer to the school to enable him study for his WEAC. Very fortunate for them, he was living very close to the girl’s house. The girl often goes to his house to study with him. This time around, there were things developing in them but they were pretending that nothing was happening. After sometimes, he opened up to the girl and told her that he loves her. To his greatest surprise, she responded in affirmation. It was on one faithful afternoon when they were alone in one of the rooms in their school hall that they first had their first kiss. On that same day, he told her that, they are not going to marry each other for they are age mates. The two agreed on that but they continued to love each other and cared for each other. Live as normal continued and the affection was growing very strong. When they started their WEAC, the fear of losing each other came upon them. The question now is why the fear, if they will not live forever? Continue Reading.........

Throughout the whole Bible, there are so many stories about mountain. Both ugly and beautiful stories happened on the mountain. Many beautiful stories that happened on the mountain was horrible before they reach the Horeb of the story. Come and think of Elijah when he ran out from Jezebel, he ran to the mountain, raven was feeding him and the voice of the Lord came to him there (1Kings 19:11-18, 1Kings 17:2-16), think of Moses, he was meeting God only on the mountain (Exodus 19:1-34). THEME: REBUILD YOUR JERUSALEM.
God himself after creation noticed that his creatures were moving away from the track decided to rebuild and reconstruct his creation through flood as we read in the first reading of today. After the renovation of the world, a new life came in. It is expected that when someone is renovating his building, he will make the building better than before. So also, if we are to rebuild ourselves, we have to go for better part of living. God used water to rebuild the first world. Water that cleared the bad and left the good (Noah and family). When we notice that we are moving away, we should come back and this is the best season to do that. Continue Reading............................
